We made it our mission to find every waterfall in Indiana and Kentucky -- tucked away in state parks, down muddy trails, and off the beaten path. Turns out there are more than you'd expect, and every one was worth the hike.

Boating across lakes, paddleboarding into sunsets, kayaking down rivers, and even taking to the skies -- if it moved and got us outside, we were in. These adventures, big and small, are what brought us closer.

Starting from Indiana, we mapped routes that wound through Colorado, Utah, California, Washington, and Montana before looping back home -- thousands of miles of national parks, mountain passes, desert highways, and coastal cliffs. Two people, one car, and more ground covered than either of us expected.

From the Smoky Mountains to the North Cascades, no trail was too long and no elevation gain too steep. Some of our best conversations happened miles from the trailhead.

Mt. Baker was our biggest physical challenge together -- rope teams, crampons, and a very early wake-up call. We stood on the summit together and knew every step of the glacier was worth it.

After two days of backpacking into the North Cascades, Sam proposed at Sahale Arm as the sun set over the glaciers. It was the most beautiful place either of us had ever been -- and the answer was yes.
